WHAT ARE BETTERMENT CHARGES?

Parts that wear out and need replacement with time and use (i.e. tires and batteries) are commonly subject betterment. These betterment charges are determined by your insurance company and are pro-rated based upon expected life of the component and how much of that has been consumed.

HOW LONG WILL MY REPAIRS TAKE?

As each repair is somewhat unique, your advisor will be the most knowledgeable in estimating the length of repairs to your vehicle. Be sure to check with your advisor for the specifics on your vehicle.

CAN I GET A RIDE HOME WHEN I DROP MY CAR OFF?

HOW CAN I GET A RENTAL CAR?

If you need a rental car, we can help make the necessary arrangements. Insurance companies will only pay for a rental car if you have that option on your policy or if your vehicle is going to be repaired by the other party’s insurance. Should you be paying for the repairs yourself and need a rental, Marck Motors Body Shop can arrange for rental car discounts through Enterprise in an effort to reduce your out of pocket expenses.

DO I HAVE TO PAY MY DEDUCTIBLE?

The amount of your deductible that you be responsible for is determined by your insurance policy. If you were not at fault, your insurance company may opt to waive your deductible. Insurance companies determine fault by your account of the accident when you make a claim, and by reviewing the accident report from the police department, should one be available.

IF I HAVE TO PAY MY DEDUCTIBLE, IS THERE A WAY TO REDUCE IT?

In many cases the answer is yes. Minor cosmetic damage related to the accident can often be used to provide an opportunity for what’s referred to in our business as an appearance allowance. This is a predetermined dollar amount worked out with the insurance company where minor related damage is not repaired, in exchange for your deductible being either reduced or removed.

WHO DO I PAY MY DEDUCTIBLE TO?

If your deductible is not waived or removed through an appearance allowance process, you will be responsible to pay your deductible directly to the shop when you pick your vehicle up.

CAN I WASH MY CAR?

Yes, with cool water and mild car wash solution using a damp cloth or sponge. Always clean with fresh water in the shade.

Don’t use a commercial car wash. Stiff brushes or sponges can and often do mar the surface. Do not dry wipe your vehicle. Surface dirt will be ground into the finish scratching the paint.

Don’t apply wax or sealants to your vehicle in the repainted areas. Paint is not fully cured for approximately 8 weeks with solvents evaporating throughout that
